This article explores theoretically the positive effects of the li on the foreign language learning from perspectives including : all languages have linguistic universals ; foreign language learning is based on the cognition of the mother tongue ; the mother tongue can facilitate input ; and the mother tongue also can promote positive affection to facilitate the foreign language learning 本文从理论上探讨母语对外语学习（二语习得）的正面影响：语言具有共性；母语认知是外语学习的基础；母语可促进可理解输入；母语可促进学习者的积极情感。
